4th Summer on the Lim Announced: A Series of Attractive Themed Events Awaits Visitors Until Mid-September

Following three successful editions of the Summer on the Lim event programme, it is time for new experiences and adventures in the Lim Bay area. Today, the 4th edition of Summer on the Lim was officially announced. As in previous years, the programme is jointly organised by the Kanfanar Tourist Board and the Vrsar Tourist Board. With the aim of further enhancing the value of this protected natural area and creating high-quality experiences for the many visitors to Lim Bay, a series of themed events has been designed to showcase its unique characteristics.

The programme for this year’s edition was presented by Ivana Maružin Mrzlić, Director of the Kanfanar Tourist Board, and Klara Trošt Lesić, Director of the Vrsar Tourist Board.

“The overture to the fourth Summer on the Lim was the interpretive boat tour ‘Secrets and Legends of Lim Bay’, where participants are entertained by a lively pirate crew that presents the bay’s specialties, natural attractions, and the features that make this area protected through an interactive and engaging performance. Two more dates of this popular experience are still to come, while Summer on the Lim also offers a variety of other activities.

Next week, on 6 August, the ‘Cheers & Chill’ event will take place, this year premiering at a new location. Visitors will enjoy a pairing of local delicacies from Kanfanar and Vrsar at a farm near the bay, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Lim Bay.

Two editions of ‘Art on the Lim’ are scheduled for 17 August and 8 September, where participants will paint Lim-inspired motifs on canvas while enjoying tastings of local wines.

Early September also brings two guided walks organised in cooperation with the Natura Histrica Public Institution, titled ‘Hidden Trails of Lim Bay’. These walks will introduce participants to the rich flora and fauna of Lim while exploring some of the bay’s lesser-known trails.”

Klara Trošt Lesić, representing the Vrsar Tourist Board, explained the principles and objectives behind Summer on the Lim, highlighting that sustainability has been the guiding concept throughout the programme since its inception.

As she noted, Lim Bay is a unique and sensitive natural area that requires special care, and all events are carefully organised to avoid negative environmental impacts. For this reason, advance registration is required for all events, allowing organisers to manage visitor numbers and ensure a high-quality experience.

Special attention is also paid to the socio-cultural dimension of sustainable development. Most events promote local traditions and gastronomy, with delicacies prepared and presented by local restaurants and family farms (OPGs). Participants will have the opportunity to taste Vrsar amaretti biscuits, local wines, liqueurs, and other products made by regional producers.

In addition, environmental sustainability remains a priority. All events are plastic-free, promotional activities are primarily digital, and the limited printed materials are produced on handmade recycled paper.

Cheers & Chill

Held at the newly opened OPG Leme Farm, located near Lim Bay and offering one of the area’s most spectacular panoramic views, Cheers & Chill combines local delicacies with a beautiful sunset setting.

The participation fee is €15.00 and includes:

• Guided tour of OPG Leme Farm
• Tasting of local products (homemade liqueur, two local wines, and finger food)
• Photo opportunity in the lavender field overlooking Lim Bay

Art on the Lim

A guided painting workshop where participants create their own canvas inspired by Lim Bay while enjoying tastings of local wines.

Hidden Trails of Lim Bay

This new experience invites visitors to discover the hidden paths of Lim Bay.

Led by expert guides from the Natura Histrica Public Institution, participants will enjoy a recreational walk of approximately 1.5 hours (around 2 km) while learning about the bay’s rich flora and fauna and taking in some of its most stunning viewpoints.
